Julian Krüger,
Frontend Developer

Hi.
I'm Julian.

Web Developer.

Skills

I love to learn about new stuff.

HTML | CSS

Plain HTML and CSS alone can build a beautiful website. I like to begin with a mobile first approach and add more complexity for bigger screen sizes to ensure a perfectly responsive experience. I do think there is a time and a place for libraries like Bootstrap, they are extremely useful. This site is built with plain CSS, though.

  • CSS
  • Semantic HTML
  • Bootstrap
  • Sass/SCSS

Frontend

Frontend frameworks like React are great to build fast and dynamic websites. this website was built with Next.js for example. Of course I do know JavaScript ES6 as well.

Backend

I am a frontend developer but I did collect some knowledge about the backend, especially when I learned python programming. I have worked with various APIs and built both SQL and MongoDB databases. I also have some experience with Flask and the Django REST Framework.

  • Node.js

  • SQL
  • MongoDB

Accessibility

It should be as easy as possible for anyone to browse the web. Accessibility is something to always keep in mind when structuring a website. Well-structured, semantic HTML will improve that experience and ARIA labels can further enhance it. And in the end it might even boost the SEO performance of a page.

And here's the stuff I've learned.

Contact/About

Hi.
I'm Julian.

About me:

For quite some time I used to be an editor. In my previous job I spent my days writing various texts into boxes. Then I decided to start writing the stuff around the box. I discovered my passion for code about a year ago. While I always had fun programming and styling my personal wordpress blogs I really got the hang of it when I finally sat down to actually learn.

Now I am a self taught Web Developer who started out learning Python and got stuck with HTML, CSS and Javascript along the way. (I still really like Python, though!) I am not yet claiming to be an expert in any way, but I am passionate about what I do and very eager to learn!

Apart from my coding journey I am a music enthusiast, a passionate hobby cook and I love pop culture, books, dogs, video games and memes.
